About us

Kulturverein Torpedo was founded in 2023 out of a shared passion for heavy metal. From the very beginning the association had one clear aim: to put on concerts and events that we would want to go to ourselves.

With Defenders of Steel the biggest of those shared dreams became real — a festival of our own that brings together classic heavy metal, strong bands and a personal atmosphere. A project close to our hearts, and one we keep building with a great deal of our own work and conviction.

Today Kulturverein Torpedo has three members who not only work together brilliantly but are close friends away from it as well. Around the association we have built a strong network and a wonderful team of helpers, without whom Defenders of Steel would not be possible in this form!

The association is a non-profit and runs entirely on volunteers. There are no commercial interests behind our events — only a passion for the music, for the scene, and for the experience we share.
